Act 1 Scene 3

Prophesy

The witches in Macbeth told him his prophesy. “All hail, Macbeth! hail to thee, Thane of Cawdor” They predicted that Macbeth was going to be Thane of Cawdor. Not long after the withes had passed on his prophesy to him, it had been announced that Macbeth was to be the Thane of Cawdor. Because one of the few prophesies the witches had told him, had come true, Macbeth may start to believe what the withes are telling him. This can change his future because it changes the way he thinks about what is going to happen. He may think he knows what his future is going to be which can make him be more motivated to make it happen, or it could have the opposite effect.
