Act 1 Scene 7

While King Duncan is at Macbeth’s castle he convinces himself to not kill King Duncan. “We will proceed no further in this business.” Macbeth knows that with every action there is a consequence.

When Macbeth informs Lady Macbeth that they will no longer be going forth in killing King Duncan she was outraged.
“And dash’d the brains out, had I so sworn as you
Have done to this.” Lady Macbeth tells him that if she promised to do something she would go through with it, even if it was killing her own baby. She is implying that Macbeth has to keep his promise. She then tells him her plans as to how he should kill him. Macbeth was soon distracted and forgot his reasons for not wanting to go through with the deed. She planned to frame his death on the guards as it was their job to keep him safe. Macbeth is once again convinced that he should kill King Duncan.
